On the night of June 2, 2025, a tragic two-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 36 at Barbee Road in St. Tammany Parish claimed the life of 20-year-old Madison E. Boone of Mandeville.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop L, Boone was driving westbound in a 2004 Buick LeSabre when an eastbound 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe crossed the centerline and struck her vehicle head-on.
Boone, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and later died at a local hospital. T
he Hyundai driver suffered moderate injuries and was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
Toxicology tests are pending, and the investigation is ongoing, with findings to be reviewed by the 22nd Judicial District Court District Attorney’s office.
