Authorities are asking for the public’s help after Bogue Falaya Wayside Park in Covington was vandalized last week, leaving several pieces of playground equipment broken and unusable.
The damage has impacted a beloved community space used by families and children, and officials are urging residents to come forward with any information that could help identify those responsible.
Surveillance footage from the park shows two persons of interest, and police are hopeful that someone in the community may recognize them. Investigators with the Covington Police Department are encouraging anyone who may recognize the individuals or have any information—no matter how small—to reach out. Tips can be submitted by calling (985) 867-1200, or anonymously through the city’s online reporting system at www.covla.com/tips.
Officials say community involvement is key to protecting public spaces and holding those responsible accountable. They also expressed gratitude to residents who have already come forward and emphasized their commitment to restoring the park and keeping Covington beautiful.
