On Friday the Slidell Police Department was searching for 26 YO Emanuel Henry of New Orleans.
Mr. Henry fled from officers with an unrestrained infant in the front seat of his car.
The officer observed Henry speeding on Old Spanish Trail, with the infant unrestrained in the front seat. The officer was finally able to catch up to the vehicle at the foot of the Twin Spans on I-10. Henry was initially cooperative, but when the officer discovered that Henry had warrants out for his arrest, he asked him to step out of the vehicle. That is when Mr. Henry decided to flee toward New Orleans.
Officers initially gave chase but backed off, not wanting to see the defenseless infant get hurt.
Emanuel Henry is currently wanted for several outstanding warrants, two of which are for Domestic Abuse Battery with Child endangerment, as well as additional warrants for his actions today: Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Operation, Expired License Plate, Improperly Restrained Child, and Driving Under Suspension.
