
A joint operation led by the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit and hosted by the Covington Police Department, with assistance from the United States Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans Field Office, the United States Secret Service New Orleans Field Office, and the Mandeville Police Department, led to the arrest of two men for crimes related to targeting children for sex.
30 YO William Clayton Byrd of Biloxi, MS, was arrested on June 5 and charged with one count of Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor. 22 YO Philip Edward Walton of Belle Chasse was arrested on June 6 and charged with one count of Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor and one count of Indecent Behavior with Juveniles.

Byrd and Walton were both booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
