Saturday night, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Troopers from State Police Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 10 near Turner Chapel Road in St. Helena Parish.
The crash claimed the life of 37 YO Donrico Turner of Greensburg.
The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as Turner was westbound on LA Hwy 10 on a 2020 Honda TRX 420 (All-Terrain Vehicle). For reasons still under investigation, Turner lost control of the Honda and it overturned.
Turner was ejected from the vehicle. Turner sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police reminds the public that the use of ATVs and utility task vehicles (UTVs) on roadways is illegal unless directly related to farming or other duties. Additionally, properly utilizing safety equipment while riding on ATVs or UTVs, such as seatbelts and a helmet, can decrease the risk of serious injury or death.
