
The 10th Annual Stennis Space Center Director’s Community Briefing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, at 8 a.m.
This event brings together over 100 business and industry leaders from Mississippi and Louisiana to hear a yearly report directly from key leadership at Stennis Space Center, the U.S. Navy, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility, and others.
Speakers for this year’s briefing include Dr. Richard Gilbrech, Director of Stennis Space Center; Lonnie Dutreix, Director of Michoud Assembly Facility; Rear Admiral Ron Piret, Commander of Naval Meteorology & Oceanography Command at Stennis; William Burnett, Director of the National Data Buoy Center at Stennis; Andy Guymon, Propulsion Test Engineer for Relativity Space at Stennis; and Michelle Anderson, Executive Director of the INFINITY Science Center located just outside Stennis.
Mark Glorioso, Chairman of Partners for Stennis & Michoud, says over the last few years, America has made significant progress in manufacturing, testing, and launching key components of the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System, making the Artemis program and space exploration possible and they are proud of the role that employees at Stennis and Michoud are playing. Glorioso added they are also excited about the Navy at Stennis. Stennis is the home to the Special Boat Team 22, the Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School, Naval Meteorology & Oceanography Command, and the U.S. Naval Research Lab. He added that Stennis is home to the largest concentration of oceanographers in the world.
Following a question-and-answer period for participants, media will have an opportunity to interview presenters.
