David Mannella, the former Slidell Memorial Hospital Board member on trial for sexual battery, agreed to a plea deal that involves no jail time but requires him to take sexual abuse sensitivity training.
The 61 YO Mannella listened as District Judge Alan Zaunbrecher explained the charges, second-degree battery, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of sexual battery. Zaunbrecher then sentenced Mannella to two years in prison for the battery charge and six months for the misdemeanor, and then suspended both.
Mannella will also have to serve two years of probation.
Mannella faced testimony from multiple women who claimed he groped them or made unwanted advances.
