A Northshore fire department is warning against following toilet-cleaning directions on a Tik-Tok video that is gaining popularity.
St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 is bringing the public’s attention to a video called “EXTREME Deep Toilet Cleaning,” saying the mix of chemicals portrayed in the clip could be extremely hazardous.
Mixing several types of chemicals together may form a reaction between the chemicals, and in doing so, produce very harmful and possibly fatal vapors. In addition, the mixture of chemicals can also create a potentially violently intense amount of heat and the toilet and pipes could also be damaged by the mixture if vapors are not able to escape quickly, possibly even causing an explosion.
