
The St. Tammany Cancer Center has community health events and cancer screenings in May.
SPRING INTO HEALTH will be at the Covington Farmer’s Market (609 N. Columbia Street). Erlinda Nye will lead a Tai Chi Session beginning at 8am to be followed by a tour of the 9am Farmer’s Market for Cancer fighting foods and nutrients provided by Registered Dietician, Ashley Eusea. They’re also hosting a FREE skin cancer screening opportunity provided by Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Brianna McDaniel, who will be available from 8am -10am. The KNOW YOUR RISK HEALTH SCREENING EVENT will be at the St. Tammany Health System Outpatient Pavilion, 16300 Highway 1085, on Wednesday, May 19th at 5pm. This comprehensive health screening event provides up to 11 services to participants in an expedited time frame of only 1.5 hours. Services offered for $200: Biometric Screening including Blood Pressure and Labwork, Ultrasounds of carotid and AAA arteries, Osteoporosis Screening via Heel Bone Density Scan, EKG, Skin Cancer Screening, Head and Neck Cancer Screening, Body Composition Analysis via InBody Scan. Additional screenings offered at additional cost for eligible participants include: Colorectal Cancer Screening via FitKit, Lung Cancer Screening via low-dose CT scan, and COVID-19 Antibody Testing.
