Due to the forecast track of Hurricane Laura and the storm impact predicted with it, Tangipahoa Parish Public Schools will remain closed on Thursday, Aug. 27. Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Melissa Stilley said the district continues to monitor the progress of the storm and will make an announcement regarding Friday on Thursday afternoon. She encouraged the public to stay tuned to the district website, www.TangiSchools.org.
Livingston Parish Public Schools will remain closed Thursday due to concerns of weather damage and safety issues that may be caused by Hurricane Laura. Superintendent Joe Murphy also said safety precautions have been taken to secure all school campuses and facilities in the parish.
All Washington Parish Schools are closed Thursday as well.
