The Hammond Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to thefts.
On July 6, 2021, at approximately 11:50 am, HPD responded to Rue21, located at 435 Palace Drive, in regards to a shoplifting report. The white, female suspect with red hair gathered numerous items and concealed them in a bag before exiting the store. The suspect entered an older model, dark-colored Chevrolet HHR with no identifiable license plate and fled the area. The suspect was later observed leaving Big Lots, located at 1701 West Thomas Street, at approximately 3:00 pm, with a shopping cart loaded with stolen laundry detergent.
