Several immigrants’ rights groups have filed a complaint against the people running a federal immigration detention center in Mississippi.
They say it is experiencing the largest coronavirus outbreak at any ICE facility in the country because safety policies are not being followed.
A letter sent to Homeland Security officials earlier this week says health policies are being violated at the Adams County Detention Center. The complaint says detainees are grouped close together and do not have consistent access to disinfecting supplies. The letter says almost 390 COVID-19 infections were reported at the Natchez-area facility last weekend.
