Law enforcement agencies from Louisiana joined together Tuesday to escort the body of a fallen Hancock County, Mississippi, deputy back home. Michael Boutte was killed in the line of duty Monday night. He had been rushed to a New Orleans hospital where he later died from his injuries. Louisiana State Police, New Orleans Police Department, Slidell Police, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, and other departments escorted Boutte’s body down I-10 and back to Mississippi Tuesday afternoon. Boutte was an Air Force veteran who spent eight years with law enforcement.
