Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,580 new #COVID19 cases. Of those cases, 1,597 were confirmed and 983 were probable. 98% of the cases reported were due to community spread. 2% were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (18%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (16%) accounted for 34% of the cases. There were 41 new deaths reported, bringing the current total death count to 8,953.
The Department reported an additional 90,334 COVID-19 vaccinations administered since the last update. The state has now administered 487,705 doses, including 103,658 completed two-dose series.
1,440 people were reported to be in hospitals with 189 requiring ventilators.
Locally, Percent Positivity numbers continue to decline in St Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington, Jefferson, and Orleans.
