On Sunday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 5,780 new #COVID19 cases since Thursday. Of those cases, 5,503 were confirmed cases and 277 were probable cases. The vast majority (97%) were tied to community spread versus spread in congregate settings. 49 new #COVID deaths were reported, bringing the death toll to 7,537 deaths since March 2020. Right now, we have 1,833 patients in the hospital, with 204 requiring ventilators. LDH has released stats on the number of COVID-19 vaccines administered. So far, more than 45,000 doses have been administered as of Jan. 2.
