According to bigseventravel.com, Ponchatoula is ranked eighth among the top 25 most charming small towns in the south. It is the only Louisiana entry on the list which includes major tourist towns like Gatlinburg, Williamsburg, and St. Augustine, Florida. Parish President Robby Miller attributed the city’s success to the hard work of the people of Ponchatoula to make it special. Ponchatoula Mayor Bob Zabbia said they are so proud of their city and people who make it that way. And Carla Tate, Tangipahoa’s Tourism Director, said Ponchatoula is known throughout the region for its charm and hospitality and often thought of as the ‘front door’ to Tangipahoa Parish.
