Around 1:15pm on Sunday, a 7-year-old was struck by a vehicle on Highway 11/Pontchartrain Drive. The preliminary investigation indicates that the child was attempting to cross Pontchartrain Drive near Markham Drive. The child was transported to University Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. Impairment is not suspected, however, routine toxicology tests were conducted and are pending analysis. Updates on the child’s condition will be provided later today.
