A Hammond man has been arrested in a case involving a road-rage incident Memorial Day weekend. Janvique Franklin, Jr., was arrested last week, after a more than month-long investigation by Mississippi authorities for information on a deadly I-10 crash that happened May 25. Police say Franklin has admitted to the shooting, and they have charged him with homicide without malice in the heat of passion. 30 YO Brandon Box, of Gulfport, was shot and killed while driving westbound on I-10 in Mississippi. Authorities say the incident began when a firecracker was thrown from the suspect’s car and landed in the bed of a truck at the foot of the Pascagoula bridge near the rest area. The two drivers allegedly engaged in aggressive driving for nearly 20 miles before the road rage culminated with Brandon Box being shot. Tips from Crimestoppers gave authorities the tip they needed to make the arrest.
