Over the weekend Slidell Police put out an alert to the public saying in less than 24 hours, they had the following: 5 Stolen vehicles reported overnight and being taken straight out of people’s driveways, 1 Attempted vehicle theft, 1 Recovery of a stolen vehicle w/ a K9 apprehension of the suspect (believed to be unrelated to the other stolen vehicles), 1 Business burglary, and 1 Recovery of a stolen vehicle (next to the business burglary).
Several of these stolen vehicles have been traced going back towards New Orleans.
They wanted to make all residents aware that this was happening. They are asking all residents to remain vigilant and to call in ANY suspicious activity/people/vehicles (particularly in your neighborhood). These criminals seem to be working in the overnight / early morning hours.
