Tangipahoa Parish Government says light showers will spread across the area during the day on Monday.
There is a small window for very light freezing drizzle Monday morning in southwest MS before temperatures rise above freezing. Light rain will begin to transition into freezing rain over the northwest and slowly work southeast through the night. Light accumulations are expected in the Winter Weather Advisory area, mainly on elevated surfaces like bridges, trees, poles and road signs, etc.
Temperatures plummet overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. There will be dangerous wind chills Tuesday morning in the teens to single digits for southwest MS and portions of southeast LA mainly along and north of the I-10/12 corridor. There will be a hard freeze possible across southwest MS and adjacent LA parishes and bitterly cold all day Tuesday, only briefly making it above freezing with cold wind chills persisting. The coldest morning will be Wednesday with lows below freezing for all of SE LA and southern MS.
