According to a recent study completed by the Business Research Center and the College of Business at Southeastern Louisiana University, the Harbor Center, with clients and events hosted, contributed an estimated $5.1 million of economic output to the St. Tammany economy in 2022.
The facility supported an estimated 39 full- and part time jobs, including an indirect and induced demand of 15 jobs, with earnings of $1.26 million.
Moreover, for every dollar received in hotel tax, the Harbor Center contributed $5.39 in total output to the St. Tammany Parish economy for 2022.
General Manager Kathy Lowrey says her team works hard and it’s rewarding to receive confirmation of the Harbor Center’s contribution to the economy. She added that they expect that to continue to grow with the opening of a new 9,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art meeting room expansion in July 2024.
