Starting today on the Causeway Bridge tolls are going up for drivers who use the toll pass or pay cash.
This increase is part of a safety program implemented in 2016, requiring a price increase every seven years to match the level of inflation.
The new toll prices will be $3.40 for tag commuters and $6 for cash commuters. The existing toll per tag is $3, so drivers are facing an 11 percent increase.
Carlton Dufrechou with the Greater New Orleans Lake Ponchartrain Causeway said drivers should consider purchasing a toll tag, as it will save more money in the long run, and it’ll keep the flow of traffic moving.
