Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) celebrated its annual commencement exercises at the University Center on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University earlier this week.
Collectively, the graduating class of 2023 represented 657 graduates. Those numbers eclipse last year’s class as NTCC’s largest graduating class with its origins dating all the way back to 1930, as the Sullivan Trade School in Bogalusa.
Outgoing NTCC Chancellor, Dr. William Wainwright, who was recently selected as President of Southeastern Louisiana University, served as the commencement speaker.
NTCC’s Alumni Association annually award two alumni awards in recognition of early academic and career achievements. The Young Alumni Award went to Jessi Dominique, a 2018 graduate, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice. She recently graduated on May 13, 2023 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. The Distinguished Alumni Award was awarded to Michelle Sutton, a 1989 graduate of NTCC’s EMT program. Ms. Sutton is the current President and CEO of North Oak Health System.
