The annual Hammond BBQ Challenge is this weekend in historic downtown Hammond.
Local charities benefit from this contest, one of the largest events in Hammond.
Live music starts Friday night, with TJ Maggio opening for Werewolf. On Saturday Open Range takes the stage from 11 am until the awards presentation at 2 pm. Then from 3 pm until 6 pm Will Vance will perform.
Friday evening and all day Saturday there will be craft vendors, BBQ, Soft Drinks, Beer and Daiquiris as well as “Tip to Taste” where you bring a stack of dollar bills and tip the competing cooks to get a taste.
All proceeds benefit Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, TARC, and other local charities.
