Shortly after 11:30 AM on February 27 Slidell Police narcotics detectives observed a blue-colored ice cream truck with an expired license plate and no brake lights on Old Spanish Trail.
This ice cream truck was of particular interest to detectives due to previously receiving information that the owner was allegedly using and selling meth from the truck.
Detectives conducted a traffic stop. Upon searching the truck, detectives located melted ice cream in the freezer, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
42 YO Tamisha Morin was placed under arrested for possession of the narcotics, an outstanding warrant, and multiple traffic violations. Morin was transported to the Slidell City Jail, and her ice cream truck, “Tami’s Ice Cream & Sweet Treats”, was impounded.
Detectives also located two small puppies inside the ice cream truck. Both puppies are safe at Slidell Animal Control.
At this point of the investigation, Slidell Police don’t believe any children were exposed to drugs.
