The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office recovered more than $10,000 worth of tools stolen from residences in the Lee Road and Million Dollar Road area.
Three residents reported tools stolen from outbuildings on their property over the past two weeks, and after receiving an anonymous tip about some of the tools being sold over social media, STPSO patrol deputies and detectives went to a residence on Heintz Sharp Road near Covington.
At that residence, detectives observed drugs, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of tools in plain view inside the home.
This prompted a search warrant to be executed at the residence, resulting in the recovery of between $10,000 and $12,000 worth of stolen tools.
STPSO detectives arrested Christopher Morris, Edmond Fitzmaurice and Tiffany Majors on a host of burglary and drug charges.
Some of the stolen items had been sold using social media prior to their arrests, but detectives are working to return the items they did recover. They have also recovered some items believed to be stolen that do not match any of the reported burglaries and they are working to identify their owners.
It is believed there may be additional victims, and more arrests/charges are possible.
If you believe you may have been a victim of a burglary and had items taken, please contact Detective Morgan with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Property Crimes Division by calling (985) 276-1334.
