The Covington Police Department conducted active threat training at St. Peter’s Elementary School.
The Covington Police Department conducts these trainings every year with updated material and studies recent events to teach officers new tactics on how to handle active threat/shooter events. They say rest assured that all Covington Police Officers are highly trained in the area of active threat if the unthinkable were to happen.
This training will be held again Thursday afternoon.
Do not be alarmed if you see police activity in that area and they ask that citizens please avoid the area while training is being conducted.
