Daniel Boudreaux, President of Local 345 and LLEA said yesterday marked a culmination of almost a decade of work as they received a historic pay raise for all of the city employees including Hammond Police.
Boudreaux said he was impressed with the City Council and the City Administration with the calm collected way this was handled. To the Council, on behalf of the police department, he thanked each of them for the hours and time spent pouring over charts and studies and for the ability to come together and discuss all the issues and options to reach a fair raise. And to the City Administration he said they can only say thank you.
Boudreaux said for the first time in two decades that Hammond Police Department is no longer a stepping stone to other agencies. Instead, they are a beacon that qualified officers can come to and he’s excited to see what the future holds.
