As of yesterday the Louisiana Department of Health reported record-low COVID-19 hospitalizations, with only 51 people in hospitals statewide with COVID-19.
Gov. John Bel Edwards issued a statement saying this is the lowest number of patients in hospitals with COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
Community spread is also low in all Louisiana parishes, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
Edwards said that while we don’t know what the future holds, we do know that we are in a much better place to fight this virus thanks to life-saving vaccines and better therapeutics.
