The driver of the pickup truck that was involved in the fatal hit and run crash Monday (April 18) evening has been identified and arrested.
Shannon Sherlock (DOB 10/31/1969) of Covington was taken into custody Tuesday (April 19) afternoon after deputies with the STPSO Traffic Division located the pickup truck involved in the crash and identified him as the driver.
He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on one count each of Felony Hit and Run, Negligent Homicide, Driving Under Suspension and Reckless Operation.
The fatal hit and run crash occurred Monday (April 18) evening near Covington. Shortly after 8 p.m. STPSO deputies were dispatched to a report of a male lying in the roadway near Joyce Court. When deputies arrived, the victim, who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, was being treated on scene by medical personnel. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment but later succumbed from his injuries.
