The Hammond Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in downtown Hammond on November 26, 2021, at approximately 1:40 a.m
The shooting took place as a result of an argument in the parking area near the intersection of North Cate Street and East Charles Street, leaving one subject with a critical injury to his chest.
Several subjects were observed striking the victim prior to the gunshot.
HPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating several persons of interest.
