Yesterday the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office said they were searching for a man accused of raping a woman at gunpoint before pushing her out of a moving car.
The sheriff said deputies responded to a home after a woman in distress knocked on the door of a residence asking for help.
The woman told deputies she had been raped and thrown out of a vehicle after an unknown man picked her up and drove her into the parish near the intersection of Highway 450 and North Martin Road.
She did not know her attacker but recalled that he drove a black four-door vehicle with front-end damage, according to the sheriff.
The victim, who had visible injuries, was evaluated by Northshore EMS and then transported to Riverside Medical Center.
Any person who might have knowledge of this incident is asked to call Detective Demmie Rice at (985) 661-2021.
