Tangipahoa Registrar of Voters Andi Matheu would like to make sure everyone is aware of the precinct changes that are now in effect for this current election.
She says in 2019, the Tangipahoa Parish Council passed the ordinance T.P. 19-43 in order to merge several precincts that were under the 300 voter threshold provided for by law.
The Election Code makes certain voting precincts have enough voters to ensure voter confidentiality. T
he ordinance made the change effective on July 1, 2021.
Precinct 28A was merged into precinct 028; precinct 106B was merged into precinct 016; and precinct 121B was merged into precinct 123.
