
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is crediting K9 Copper with the swift and successful rescue of two missing juveniles near the Bogue Falaya River.
Deputies Terry Poynter and Timothy Sullivan responded to the call after the children lost contact with their parents near the Land-O-Pines Campground. K9 Copper was deployed and, within just 15 minutes, tracked and located the children, who were found safe and unharmed.
The quick response highlights the vital role of K9 units in emergency situations, as Copper’s training and instincts helped bring a family back together in a matter of minutes.
