The Northshore pastor convicted of cruelty to a juvenile charges had his request for a retrial denied.
John Raymond was found guilty of putting packing tape over the mouths of five students at Lakeside Christian Academy in Slidell.
He was in court Thursday for sentencing, but the hearing was rescheduled due to his request for a retrial. That retrial request was denied. Now a new sentencing date is being set.
Raymond was the headmaster at the time of the incident and said his actions were a form of discipline for disrupting class.
