
Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit have arrested a juvenile following a shooting which occurred over the weekend.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday (February 15), STPSO deputies responded to the 27000 block of Jackson Street in Lacombe, in reference to the report of a shooting. Two occupants of the residence reported hearing multiple gunshots and upon exiting their residence discovered the girlfriend of one of the residents had been shot.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a female victim lying near her vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital and was later listed in stable condition.
The STPSO Major Crimes Unit was called to investigate and identified a 16-year-old Lacombe male as being responsible for the shooting.
The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center for Attempted Second Degree Murder, Obstruction of Justice and being a Minor in Possession of a Firearm.
The incident is still under investigation and additional arrests are possible.
