
Parents/caregivers of young children are invited to attend the STPPS Krewe Du Kidz family event to get information and resources from a variety of community partners and assistance applying for Pre K.
Krewe Du Kidz will take place at the Treen Technology Center at 2024 Livingston Street, Mandeville on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Families can attend anytime between 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Krewe Du Kidz will have activities for kids, including story time, face painting, and a Mardi Gras theme photo opportunity. There will also be king cake to enjoy! Parents/caregivers can apply in-person for Pre K in the St. Tammany Parish Public School System (STPPS) for the 2025-2026 school year when applications go live on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Krewe Du Kidz event. STPPS Early Childhood Coordinators will be available at the event to assist with the application process. Parents/caregivers are asked to bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate. A copy of the child’s social security card, and three proof of residency documents to complete the application process.

To qualify for free STPPS Pre K, a child must be 4 years old on or before September 30, live within the attendance boundary of the school and meet income requirements. Paid tuition spots, $450 tuition, may be available for those who do not meet the income requirements if all seats are not filled. All families seeking free or tuition spots must complete an application online. After the online application is received, a STPPS Pre K staff member will notify families of their eligibility and will provide information for the next steps to complete registration.
