On January 24, 2025, the Hammond Police Department responded to a theft at Winn Dixie, located at 2302 West Thomas Street.
Upon arrival, HPD officers learned that, at approximately 7:39 p.m., a female suspect pushed a buggy up to a self-checkout, proceeded to scan merchandise as if she was checking out, then fled the store with the merchandise, valued at approximately $922.40.
The suspect was wearing khaki pants, a black jacket, and a black beanie.
