
Three Mandeville-area teens have been arrested after stealing and burning a LBGTQ flag.
On May 26, a Mandeville-area woman called the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to report her LGBTQ flag was stolen from outside her house and burned in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Soult Drive and Preval Drive.
Detectives with the STPSO Property Crimes Division arrested two 15 YO’s and one 14 YO after obtaining a video of the three teens burning the flag while making derogatory remarks. They were released to their parents/guardians on a custodial agreement to appear in court for the following charges: Theft Less than $1,000 (misdemeanor), Simple Criminal Damage to Property (misdemeanor), and Hate Crimes (misdemeanor).
