
Detectives with St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit have arrested a Pearl River man in connection with the murder of his father.
At approximately 5 p.m. on May 26, STPSO detectives were dispatched to a residence in the 67000 block of Slaughter Drive near Pearl River in response to a suspicious death after 74-year-old Douglas LaFrance was located deceased on his front porch.
In conjunction with the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office and following an autopsy, suspicions were confirmed and LaFrance’s death was ruled a homicide.
LaFrance’s son, Vincent LaFrance (DOB 8/24/71, also of Pearl River, was arrested Wednesday (June 5) evening on a warrant in connection with his father’s death. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on one count of First Degree Murder.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
