A Slidell Police officer is recovering, after being involved in an on-duty motorcycle crash on Monday.
Shortly after 1:00pm, a Slidell Police Department motorcycle officer was performing an escort of state and local officials, who were viewing weather-related damage in the Slidell area. During the escort, the Slidell Police motorcycle struck an unmarked Louisiana State Police vehicle.
The crash occurred near the intersection of W. Howze Beach Road and Rio Street.
The officer suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No other injuries occurred as a result of the crash.
The crash is being investigated by the Louisiana State Police and remains under investigation.
The Slidell Police Department is asking that everyone pray for the officer and for a speedy recovery.
