
The City of Mandeville Parks and Parkways Commission will be celebrating Arbor Day with the annual Seedling Giveaway program by distributing free tree seedlings.
This event will be held on Saturday, March 30, and Saturday, April 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, or until all the seedlings are given away.
The event will be held at the Mandeville Trailhead located at 675 Lafitte Street.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Mandeville Community Center located at 3090 E Causeway Approach. Check the City’s website and Facebook Event for updates on the location of the event.
This year’s focus will be on native fruit trees, one flowering tree and three shade trees which include American Papaw, Common Persimmon, Eastern Redbud, Shumard Oak, Pond Cypress, Sycamore. William Afton, County Agents, LSU Ag Center, St. Tammany Parish will be available to answer any questions.
