Saturday afternoon, shortly before 2:00 p.m., Troopers from State Police Troop L began investigating a fatal crash on LA Hwy 16 near Leonard Chapel Road in St. Helena Parish.
The crash claimed the life of 38 YO Timothy Larkin of Amite.
The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as Larkin was eastbound on LA Hwy 16 on a go-kart. For reasons still under investigation, the go-kart traveled off the roadway and struck a sign. Larkin sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital before he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
