
The Fortieth Krewe of Erin St. Patrick’s Parade steps off in downtown Ponchatoula on Saturday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m.
Parade revelers will be led by Queen of Erin Austyn Akin with Grand Marshal Leslie McKnight and the Krewe of Erin Royal Court who were recently revealed at the Celtic Coronation Tea hosted at Trinity Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center. During the Royal Celtic Coronation Tea, the 39th Queen of Erin Madison Kiss crowned her successor, Queen of Erin Austyn Akin.
Queen Austyn Akin is the daughter of Krewe members Devin and Traci Oehler of Hammond. She is a sophomore at the University of New Orleans pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.
Krewe of Erin 40th Grand Marshal Leslie McKnight is a resident of Mandeville and the wife of Curt Zeller, Sr. Both have been members of the Krewe of Erin for twenty-five years. During these years she has served on the Executive Committee and the Queen’s Committee as well as Equerry to the Queens. She is also the mother of Lauren Zeller and Lacie Zeller, both past Queens of the Krewe of Erin, as well as the proud grandmother of Krewe of Erin Princess Chevie Lamparski and soon will be welcoming a grandson to her clan.
