A man wanted by Slidell Police for first-degree murder was arrested by a St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s patrol deputy during a traffic stop Saturday evening.
At approximately 6:45 p.m. Saturday, a criminal patrol deputy with the St. Tammany Parish 1st District was patrolling on Bayou Liberty Road near Slidell when he observed a silver Honda Accord pass him without working taillights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and soon discovered the driver of the Honda Accord was none other than Tyrese Batiste, a man wanted by Slidell Police in connection with a murder which occurred in their jurisdiction in September 2021.
