
Over the Mardi Gras weekend 41 YO Diann Stiglet of Gulfport, Mississippi was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-12 near LA Hwy 59 in St. Tammany Parish.
The initial investigation revealed that the driver was eastbound on I-12 in a 2007 GMC Yukon.
For reasons still under investigation, the GMC traveled off the roadway to the left and impacted a tree. Despite the driver being properly restrained; they sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained from the driver for analysis.
Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted; follow all traffic laws, and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
