
In the 74 District Peter Egan got 54% of the vote to defeat Buffie Singletary.
In the 89 District Kim Carver got the win with almost 54% of the vote over Josh Allison.
And in the 90 Representative District incumbent Mary DuBuisson was defeated by Brian Glorioso, who carried 56% of the vote.
For St Tammany Council seats, Rolling, Seiden, Phillips and Cougle were the runoff winners.
In Tangipahoa Parish the Consolidated Schools District No. 1 15 Mills Renewal won approval for the next 10 years. The effort passed with 63% of the vote.
Meanwhile a mental health renewal at 1.78 Mills in St Tammany failed to get enough votes and lost 48% to 51%.
In Livingston Parish, a measure to renew a property tax that pays for the library system passed by only 168 votes out of 18,372 votes cast, according to complete but unofficial results. The library tax, which generates about $6 million per year, will be extended for another 10 years. It accounts for more than 95% of the library system’s operating budget. The renewal had never gotten less than 68% of the vote in previous elections but Livingston voters have recently been in a tax-cutting mood, having rejected renewals for both the parish health unit and a local recreation district.
