
Five subjects were arrested after a long narcotics investigation involving the Hammond Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Drug Enforcement Agency Northshore Task Force.
20 YO Geremy “G” Perry and 20 YO Eligie “June” Winding, both of Natalbany, were being investigated for distribution of Fentanyl. Perry sold Fentanyl to an undercover officer multiple times over the course of several months.
On October 19, 2023, with the assistance of agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Homeland Security, Perry was arrested at a local motel on his drug related arrest warrants. Perry had distributed methamphetamine, pills and heroin numerous times that tested positive for Fentanyl.
During the arrest, Perry was in a vehicle with 18 YO Kealan Taylor of Hammond, who had a stolen pistol and numerous ecstasy pills in his possession along with a large bag of marijuana.
On November 7, 2023, the HPD Street Crimes and Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that Eligie “June” Winding was driving. Two pistols, one had been reported stolen, were located inside the vehicle, along with heroin and methamphetamine. A 17 YO juvenile, who had a pistol in his waistband, and 19 YO Tyrion “Ty” Jacobs of Natalbany, who were passengers in the vehicle, were also arrested. Jacobs was confirmed to be a convicted felon and on probation with the Department of Corrections.
All of these suspects were booked on numerous charges.
Fentanyl is a dangerous and deadly drug that has taken the lives of many people recently. Traces of Fentanyl have been located in several types of narcotics including, pills, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana.
