St. Tammany Health System has launched our inaugural month-long St. Tammany UNITED in Pearl Lung Cancer Awareness Campaign, featuring an awareness walk and screening opportunities.
To kick off this awareness month with the goal to educate about, screen for and prevent lung cancer, they are holding the 2023 Power of Pearls Lung Cancer Walk on Saturday, November 4, in Fontainebleau State Park. Lung Cancer survivors, family members and friends are invited to walk a mile in honor of those that cannot. The walk is free, no registration required and the entrance to the park is free for participants.
National Lung Cancer Screening Day is Saturday, Nov 11th at the Paul D. Cordes Outpatient Pavilion. Lung screening participants will receive a complimentary Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening.
No Grit, No Pearl is centered around the white lung cancer awareness ribbon and conveys there is no beauty without hardship. The goal: to bring positive awareness to Lung Cancer, and to increase education about early detection through Lung Cancer Screening assessments.
