Last night St. Tammany Parish Government said they were actively working to determine an unknown substance in the waterways near Moonraker Drive and Clipper Drive in the Slidell area with St. Tammany Fire District #1, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police and the United States Coast Guard.
Hazmat has determined that the substance is not flammable and is pH neutral.
President Cooper said they have been informed that the substance is not dangerous to citizens and the Department of Environmental Quality will be conducting further investigation to determine if any further steps are warranted.
